What is MyCCA & how can we use it?

I recently subscribed to a content management service to help support my students and families through the college admissions process. Each student has a username and password to get into the system. If you need me to send you the login information, just email me.

What you can do on MyCCA?

  • Manage your college list
  • Research schools to add to your list
  • Compare your test scores and GPA with scores of the current freshman students attending any university
  • Review your assignments
  • Email your counselor (me!) and post notes about colleges you have visited
  • Create an essay roadmap for all of the schools on your list
  • Create a timeline and check off sheet for deadlines specific to every school on your list

It is an amazing resource and I hope my students and families will use the system as much or as little as you see fit. Click here to login.

The Common Application 2012-13 launches today

The Common Application officially launches today, August 1st. Most private schools across the United States and many of the flagship public institutions (University of Michigan, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina) use the Common Application form. If you are planning to apply to any schools on the Common Application, go to www.commonapp.org and create your user name and password. Add the schools currently on your list and then begin filling out the biographical information. If you go to the last page of the application, there is a preview button. This creates a PDF of your application which you can save (make sure to use your name in the title of the saved document) and send to me as an attachment. We can go over it in your next session.
